| I have thousands of slides from the early eighties until the mid 1990's, hopefully as time allows I will be downloading them to this site. I hope you enjoy them and that they bring back a few good memories from the past! The Website is gradually expanding to take in my other interests, bus's (a bit), planes (a bit), beer ( a lot) and local landscapes. I hope you find something of interest.... |

 | 1st Jan 1980 | East Anglian Railways in the 80's
Anglia in the 80's was a heaven for diesel haulage fans, and the photographer too, with many trip freights in and around Norwich, Ipswich, March and Cambridge. All this, of course had gone by the 1990's, so here for your enjoyment are some happy memories of when the railways were real...
4th December 2007
I've added a few more scans, there are still some more that I have not found yet that I want to add so keep watching this space!
|
 | 1st Jan 1981 to 1st Feb 1981 | Rail Blue Memories Part 1
Happy memories from the real 'bashing' days...everything from 20's to 50's in all the old stamping grounds, I hope they bring back a few memories...
|
 | 1st Jan 1982 to 1st Feb 1982 | Rail Blue memories part 2
A lot of Scottish slides here from desperate rover days in the 80's. I have also added (on 24th Jan 2007) a lot more scans from all over the country, remember the days? Freedom of the East Midlands? Heart of Englands, Anglia day rovers? I hope you enjoy them, and that they bring back a few memories of when the railway was real and not plastic....
|
 | 4th Jan 1982 | Rail Blue Memories Part 3
Another selection from the achives, covering Scotland, linesiding on the Settle and Carlisle line and desperate bashing trips elsewhere. Rail Blue Part 4 should follow shortly with the last of 'the best of the rest'! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them at the time...
More scans added on 14th March 2007.
|
 | 5th Jan 1982 | Rail Blue Memories Part 4
Linesiding on the S&C, some more from around Norwich and Anglia and a miscellaneous selection of hellfire slides from a mis-spent youth spent travelling and photting classic traction. And I wouldn't change a thing.
|
 | 19th Jan 1982 | Railblue memories Part 5
A real mixed bag this, some East Anglian scans, plus some of various depot 'nedding' trips in the early 1980's, and a few covering virtually the whole of the BR network up to the early 1990's. Some good memories here, I hope you enjoy them.
|
 | 20th Jan 1982 | Railtours and Seminars
Some happy memories from the AIA charter days and seminar phots etc, I was never a great fan of railtours but sometimes when the destination and traction were right they had to be done.......
|
 | 27th Feb 1982 to 27th Feb 1984 | Rail Blue Memories Part 6
Hurrah I finally had some more archive slides scanned! Again its a very mixed bag from all over the country, lots of money spent of rover tickets and beer I fear! I hope you enjoy them, happy memories of when British Rail was worth travelling on, and the idea that a class 60 could be interesting hadn't been contemplated.
|
 | 1st Jan 1983 | West Country Wanderings Part 1
This collection reflects one or two linesiding holidays in the early 80's with a mate of mine Mike Bryant, based in and around Exeter, and a not inconsiderable amount of 50 bashing trips too. Of course all but the scenery has changed out of all recognition, somehow sprinters and HST's just don't 'do it' for me. And they demolished the Red Cow at Exeter too.
|
 | 2nd Jan 1983 | West Country Wanderings Part 2
With part 1 rather full now, I've created a new collection for the rest of my West Country scans. There's a lot of class 50's here, particularly in Devon, but some other loco's to add interest as well. The sun always seemed to shine on those hazy Summer days in the early 80's, jumpers for goalposts, warm beer in the Red Cow at Exeter, marvelous.

I moved to Highworth in March 2007, I've always liked the place and it seemed a logical move to leave that crossroads of Asian, African and Eastern European culture that is Swindon for somewhere a little quieter. I hope you like my website, if you have any suggestions to improve it or general comments please let me know either by email or in person at the Cellar Bar, all criticisms must be included with a pint! Cheers.
